Way Forward For The Caspian Oil And Gas Industry

Way Forward For The Caspian Oil And Gas Industry

This November the SPE Annual Caspian Technical Conference is coming back to Kazakhstan for its 9th edition. After a prolonged period of being only able to take part in remote events in the course of the global pandemic, it feels good to return to face-to-face conversations, focus on reconnecting the Caspian oil and gas industry, address old and new challenges in the sector, deliver improved performance and highlight emerging technologies and practices in the global oil and gas exploration and production.

Hosted by national oil company KMG and supported by leading global oil & gas players including TCO, ExxonMobil, Schlumberger, Shell, Degolyer and McNaughton, and Halliburton, the SPE Caspian Technical event is primed for its return to face-to-face conversations, with a focus on reconnection as well as addressing new challenges in the sector. Caspian oil & gas experts will deliver improved performance and highlight emerging technologies and practices in global oil and gas exploration and production.

Three panel sessions will take place during the event covering: ‘Navigating Change in Uncertain Times’, ‘Delivering Sustained Value through the Digital Transformation’, and ‘Attracting, Retaining and Harnessing the Potential of New Talent’. Keynote speakers will include high-level representation from the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, KMG, KPO, ExxonMobil, KAZENERGY, Agip Karachaganak, TCO, Chevron, NCOC, Schlumberger and many other significant players.

During the interactive panel sessions, E&P experts will share experiences and best practice as they navigate the current environment. Recent geopolitical events have brought unprecedented change to the industry and assessing current challenges and identifying how to navigate this period of rapid and extensive change will be a vital conversation for investors, operators, service companies and government entities across the Caspian region.

The renowned technical programme will cover a variety of topical themes including: Production and Operations; Energy Transition; Reservoir, Description and Dynamics; Geoscience, Projects, Facilities and Management in Oil and Gas; Data Science, Engineering and Analytics; and more.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers has been offering this unique event platform since 2014. Attended by 400+ regional and global oil & gas professionals and experts, and supported by industry leaders including KMG, Kazenergy, APGK and the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, it has become a milestone for the regional oil & gas industry as it consolidates first-hand practical experiences from the field.

Tengizchevroil, a prominent regional player, noted that the SPE event is ‘vital for the industry’ and continues to allow key representatives to communicate with colleagues from around the world and share their views on industry trends in the oil and gas sector.
