Gas shipments from Azerbaijan to Italy via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in January-September 2023 totaled 7.373 bcm, which is 4.3% less than the same period in 2022.
The Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security said that, in September 2023, the country received 841 mcm of Azerbaijani gas via TAP (a decrease of 8.2% compared to September last year).
The TAP pipeline is meant to transport gas to Europe from the Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea as part of “Stage 2” of its development.
In 2022, gas shipments to Italy via TAP reached 10.325 bcm (an increase of 43.1% compared to 2021), the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security said.
